Estimating the total benefit of using biomass heating at your site can be complicated, especially as there are financial benefits that are additional to the RHI and critical to building your business case. For this reason we have created this simple calculator as a useful rough guide!

We encourage you to still do your own cost/benefit analysis as every site and client is different. There is a lot more to biomass heating than just buying a boiler and we want you to fully understand all the implications as well as the benefits. For example, biomass heating is counted as carbon neutral under Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) and carbon dioxide emission savings are currently valued at £12/tonne. There are also many social and environmental benefits that also can't be captured in a calculator.
